Service 05 // Cloud & DevOps

Infrastructure that makes releases boring.

We design, automate and harden cloud infrastructure so your team can ship several times a day, sleep through the night and know what next month's bill will be.

// 01 — What's included

Reliable, secure and cost-aware.

Whether you're launching a first product or untangling years of manual changes, we bring order without slowing you down.

01

Architecture & migration

Right-sized cloud architecture, and careful migrations from on-premise servers or another provider with rollback plans.

02

Infrastructure as code

Every environment described in Terraform, reviewed like application code and reproducible on demand.

03

CI/CD pipelines

Automated build, test, security scan and deploy on every change, with preview environments and one-click rollback.

04

Containers & runtime

Docker images, and managed container platforms or Kubernetes only when the scale really calls for it.

05

Observability

Logs, metrics, traces and alerts that point at the cause, plus dashboards for uptime and latency.

06

Security & cost

Least-privilege access, secret management, patching and backups — plus a monthly review of what you're paying for.

// 02 — Deliverables

What you walk away with.

A platform your engineers can operate confidently, documented so nobody is a single point of failure.

  • Infrastructure and security audit
  • Target architecture diagram
  • Terraform for every environment
  • CI/CD pipelines with rollback
  • Monitoring, alerting and on-call runbooks
  • Backup and disaster-recovery plan, tested
  • Cost report with savings plan
  • Access and secrets review
// 03 — Example use cases

Where it pays off.

Typical situations where cloud and DevOps work pays off fast — illustrative, not client stories.

Use case 01

Leaving a single fragile server

Moving an app off one hand-configured server onto reproducible, backed-up infrastructure with zero-downtime deploys.

Use case 02

Cutting a growing cloud bill

Finding idle resources, oversized databases and missing commitments, then fixing them without risking stability.

Use case 03

Getting ready for due diligence

Tidying access, backups, logging and documentation before an investor or enterprise customer looks closely.

Use case 04

Faster, safer releases

Replacing manual deploy steps with a pipeline so small changes ship daily instead of in risky monthly batches.

// 04 — Process

How a cloud project runs.

01

Audit

Review accounts, architecture, pipelines, access and spend; rank risks by impact and effort.

→ risk register
02

Plan

Agree the target architecture and a sequence of safe, reversible changes.

→ migration plan
03

Automate

Codify infrastructure, build pipelines and observability, migrating service by service.

→ everything as code
04

Run

Hand over with runbooks and training, or keep it running for you on a monthly plan.

→ calm on-call
// 05 — Technology

Tools we reach for.

Boring, proven building blocks — the less exotic your infrastructure, the cheaper it is to run.

// 06 — FAQ

Common questions.

Something not covered? Write to hello@spellegrinokey.co.uk.

Do we need Kubernetes?

Probably not yet. Most products run well — and more cheaply — on managed container services or a few well-configured servers. We recommend Kubernetes when team size, traffic or compliance needs genuinely justify the overhead.

Can you reduce our cloud costs?

Usually, yes. A cost review typically finds idle or oversized resources and missing commitment discounts. We make changes gradually and measure the effect, so savings never come at the expense of stability.

Will there be downtime during a migration?

We plan migrations to avoid it — running old and new side by side, moving traffic gradually and keeping a tested rollback. Where a short maintenance window is unavoidable, we agree it with you in advance.

Do you provide out-of-hours support?

We can include monitoring and agreed response times in a monthly support plan, sized to how critical the system is to your business.

Tell us how you deploy today and what keeps you up at night. A short audit is often the best first step.
