Service 06 // Product & UX design

Design decisions you can defend.

We turn fuzzy ideas into tested flows and polished interfaces — grounded in research, prototyped early and handed to engineers in a form they can build without guesswork.

// 01 — What's included

From problem framing to pixel detail.

Designers who sit with engineers from day one, so what's designed is what ships.

01

Discovery workshops

Structured sessions to align stakeholders on users, goals, constraints and what success means.

02

User research

Interviews, journey mapping and usability tests with real or representative users.

03

Information architecture

Navigation, content structure and flows that make complex products feel simple.

04

Interactive prototypes

Clickable prototypes in Figma or code, realistic enough to test with users and pitch to investors.

05

Visual & UI design

A distinctive interface that reflects your brand, with accessibility built into colour, type and interaction.

06

Design systems

Reusable components, tokens and guidelines that keep a growing product consistent and faster to build.

// 02 — Deliverables

What you walk away with.

Organised, build-ready design files — and the reasoning behind every major decision.

  • Research findings and personas
  • User journeys and flow diagrams
  • Clickable prototype
  • Usability test report
  • High-fidelity UI for key screens
  • Design system in Figma
  • Accessibility notes (WCAG 2.2 AA)
  • Developer hand-off and specs
// 03 — Example use cases

Where it pays off.

Moments where design work saves the most money — examples of the situations we help with.

Use case 01

Validating a new product idea

A tested prototype and clear evidence before you commit budget to a full build or an investor round.

Use case 02

Fixing a product people struggle with

Finding where users drop off or get confused, then redesigning those journeys and measuring the result.

Use case 03

Bringing order to a growing product

A design system that stops every new screen looking slightly different and speeds up the engineering team.

Use case 04

Designing internal tools

Making staff-facing software fast and forgiving, because hours lost to bad tools add up quickly.

// 04 — Process

How a design project runs.

01

Frame

Workshops and stakeholder interviews to agree the problem, audience and measures of success.

→ problem statement
02

Research

Talk to users, map journeys and review analytics and competitors to find the real friction.

→ insights
03

Prototype

Sketch, then build clickable prototypes and test them with users in short rounds.

→ tested prototype
04

Refine & hand off

Polish the UI, document components and pair with engineers through the build.

→ build-ready files

// 06 — FAQ

Common questions.

Something not covered? Write to hello@spellegrinokey.co.uk.

Can you design without building?

Yes. Many clients hire us for discovery and design only, then build in-house or with another team. Our hand-off files and specs are written for whoever picks them up.

Do we need user research if we know our customers?

Even a handful of short interviews or tests usually surfaces surprises. We size research to the risk: light for small changes, deeper for a new product or a high-stakes journey.

Will you work with our existing brand?

Yes. We extend your brand into a product interface, and can refresh or create a visual identity if you need one.

How do you make designs accessible?

We check colour contrast, type sizes, focus states, touch targets and screen-reader structure as we design, and annotate the files so engineers implement them correctly.

// Next step

Let's make it obvious to use.

Bring an idea, a sketch or an existing product. We'll suggest a discovery plan that fits your timeline and budget.
